About Skree

Hi, I'm Marshall.

Skree started with sore wrists. Partway through a four-year BA in Horticulture, all those term papers gave me RSI. I'd been doing electronics on our small family farm since I was ten, so instead of putting up with it, I started building keyboards that fit my hands. Dactyls and a little tenting made the difference, along with learning proper hand form and, honestly, getting up for real breaks.

I started Skree in 2021 and opened the shop late that year. I still live and work on that farm in Carroll County, Ohio.

Made here

Everything is designed and built in-house:

  • My own PCBs. Every Skree keyboard runs on a PCB I designed, and I make them here too. Bit by bit I've built a small PCB production line: stencil printing, pick-and-place machines I designed myself (with custom versions in the works), a reflow oven, and testing done right here.
  • Cases and parts printed in FDM and UV resin.
  • Custom paint jobs, airbrushed by hand, and UV printing.

Buying from Skree supports small-scale manufacturing here in the US.

Along the way I've also done hydroponics, built FPV drones and repaired a lot of small electronics. If it has a circuit board, I've probably had it apart.

The name Skree came from my partner Brandi, along with most of the derp cats and product names you'll find around here.

What that means for you

  • You're talking to the person who builds your board.
  • Every order is tracked in the open Queue.
  • I'll repair any Skree keyboard, no matter how old it is.
